Health Ministry: The number of confirmed cases of cholera is 338

Damascus (ST): The Ministry of Health announced that the total number of confirmed cases of cholera through rapid testing reached 338, while the number of deaths reached 29.
In a statement, the director of communicable and chronic diseases in the ministry, Dr. Zuhair Al-Sahwi, explained that the cases are distributed in Aleppo governorate with 230, Deir Ezzour 55, Al-Hasakeh 25, Lattakia 19, Homs 5, and Damascus 4, pointing out that the deaths are distributed in Aleppo 25, Deir Ezzour and Vitan, and Al-Hasakeh.
Al-Sahwi revealed that the two new infections in Damascus governorate, one was for a person coming from Deir Ezzour governorate, and another from Al-Hasakeh, and that the two old infections were discharged from the hospital, and they are in good and stable health, stressing the importance of seeking early medical advice in case of suspected infection, because most of the deaths  may be caused by delays in seeking medical care, or by people suffering from chronic diseases.
