Health Ministry and Syrian-French Council discuss enhancing quality of health services

The Acting Minister of Health Maher Al-Sharaa discussed aspects of joint cooperation with a delegation from the Syrian-French Council, aimed at enhancing the quality of health services and achieving sustainable development goals.

During the meeting held today at the Ministry’s headquarters in Damascus, Al-Sharaa clarified that the health sector is in a dire condition, with many unmet needs.

He emphasized the necessity of coordinating with all countries, organizations, and medical delegations to secure these needs based on priorities.

The two sides discussed the challenges facing the health sector in Syria, prospects for cooperation to advance it, and expanding future work plans across various health fields.

They stressed the importance of working together to rehabilitate the infrastructure of health facilities, repair what has been destroyed, secure medical supplies, equipment, and devices, and exchange expertise to enhance scientific and medical competencies.

Members of the delegation expressed their readiness to provide support for implementing joint work plans, exchanging expertise, and organizing lectures and scientific seminars related to the health field.
