The Deputy Acting Minister of Health, Dr. Hussein Al-Khatib and Director of the Planning and International Cooperation Zuhair Qarat, discussed with the President of the “Mercy Worldwide” Organization, Dr. Shadi Al-Zaza, and the accompanying delegation, the health situation in Syria and its urgent needs.
The two sides also discussed ways to enhance cooperation, especially in terms of health facilities.
During a meeting held today at the Ministry building, the two sides discussed the extent of current needs in the health field, and the challenges facing hospitals due to a shortage of medical supplies and equipment.
Focus was also put on improving medical services, meeting necessary needs, and methods of urgent responses.
Future projects were discussed, with the aim of enhancing humanitarian support, sustainable development and improving the health services in Syria.
