Health Ministry: About 98,000 medical services provided to Lebanese coming to Syria

DAMASCUS, Nov.5, (ST)_The number of medical services provided to the Lebanese people who came to Syria as part of the emergency response to the repercussions of the ongoing Israeli aggression on its territory reached 97,937 free services, from which more than 41.000 people benefited within 40 days.

The Ministry of Health said in a statement published today by the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that the services provided included 43,000 services through the border crossings in Damascus countryside, Tartous, and Homs, 53,105 services within shelters, 841 services in hospitals, and 991 services through ambulances.

The Ministry added that the services provided included general medical services, surgical and emergency operations, mental and reproductive health, as well as those related to chronic diseases, in addition to the necessary vaccines for children and the tetanus vaccine for women.

It indicated that the number of emergency services during the same period reached 1,300 services and mental health services reached 14,116 services, while routine vaccination services for children reached 7,996 services.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Health, as part of the response plan to provide services to those who are arriving from Lebanon to Syria as a result of the Israeli aggression, has placed all hospitals affiliated with its directorates in the border governorates with Lebanon fully prepared to receive any cases, and has provided the crossings with ambulances equipped 24 hours a day besides sending the necessary medicines and medical supplies.
