DAMASCUS,(ST)-Health Minister Dr. Nizar Yazigi has stressed that the ministry spares no effort as to deliver medical services to the people who are in need in all Syrian areas despite the unjust economic sanctions imposed on the Syrians and which negatively affected the health sector in terms of ensuring certain kinds of medicines and necessary medical equipments.
During his meeting on Tuesday with a French parliamentary delegation led by MP Gerard Bapt, the minister explained the huge damage caused to the health sector by the terrorists groups’ attacks especially to hospitals, health centers and health relief system. Yazigi reviewed the procedures taken by the ministry to provide medicines and vaccines to all areas.
In his turn, the French MP Bapt clarified that the delegation’s visit basically has “humanitarian and health aspects” aiming to brief the delegation on the requirements of the health sector and on ways to meet them.
Members of the French delegation, which also includes the Socialist Party Senator Bernard Kazuo, visited the Al-Bassel Center for Cardiac Diseases in Dummar and the Charles de Gaulle School in Mazzeh area in Damascus where they were briefed on the medical services provided to patients.
