Health Minister discusses with Chargé d’Affaires of the Swedish Embassy in Syria ways to support the country’s health sector

Health Minister Musab Al-Ali is discussing with the Chargé d’Affaires of the Swedish Embassy in Syria Jessica Safar Ström ways to cooperate and support the health sector in Syria.

The two sides discussed expanding cooperation, particularly in the construction and development of medical facilities, exchanging expertise, and enhancing health relations between the two countries.

Al-Ali reviewed the challenges facing the health sector in Syria, especially regarding the destroyed health services and facilities, as well as the need to update the ambulance system and rebuild the damaged infrastructure.

Safar Ström expressed her country’s readiness to provide full support to the Syrian people in the health sector, and a suitable mechanism will be established to facilitate this.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister Dr. Hussein Al-Khatib and Director of the Supply Directorate Shadi Haj Hussein.
