Health condition of Palestinian Prisoner in the Israeli jails Nahid Al-Aqraa deteriorating: Palestinian prisoners’ commission warns

The Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-prisoners Affairs Commission has warned against the deterioration of the health condition of the Palestinian prisoner in the Israeli jail, Nahid Al-Aqraa, as a result of the arbitrary practices of the Israeli occupation against him, mainly deliberate medical negligence.

In a statement reported by WAFA News Agency on Monday, the commission said that the occupation forces detained Al-Aqraa in 2007 though one of his legs was amputated. However deliberate medical negligence at the Israeli jails caused gangrene infection to his other leg which was also amputated later.

The commission added that the prisoner is currently suffering from lung problems and is in constant need of oxygen, pointing out that the occupation authorities refrain from providing him with the necessary treatment so putting his life at risk.

The commission called on the international community’s human rights and legal institutions to urgently intervene to pressure the occupation authorities to release Al-Aqraa and all sick prisoners.
