Health condition of Palestinian prisoner Abu Atwan deteriorating: Palestinian Prisoners’ Authority warns

The Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-prisoners Authority has warned against the deteriorating health condition of the Palestinian prisoner in the Israeli occupation jails Al-Ghadanfar Abu Atwan, 28, due to the occupation’s deliberate medical negligance and oppressive practices towards the Palestinian prisoners.

In a statement on Saturday, the authority said that Abu Atwan was detained by the occupation last October and he has been on a hunger strike over the past 46 days.

According to the prisoners’ authority, Abu Atwan is now feeling faint, woozy with permanent headache and dizziness and he suffers from joint pain.

The authority added that Abu Atwan has greatly lost weight and is now suffering from the lack of liquids in his body, which poses a serious threat to his life.

 Some 5300 Palestinian prisoners are held in the Israeli occupation jails within very difficult conditions. 550 of these prisoners are sick and they need urgent medical treatment, according to the authority.
