Health condition of four Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails deteriorating: Prisoners Commission warns
The Palestinian and ex-prisoners Affairs Commission has warned that the health condition of four Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli jails is increasingly deteriorating due to deliberate medical negligence and repressive practices of the occupation authorities towards the prisoners.
In a statement reported by WAFA News Agency on Tuesday, the commission said that the health condition of the prisoner Naser Abu Hamid, who has cancer, continues to deteriorate rapidly and now he is in a critical condition after the disease spread in several parts of his body, mainly his lungs.
According to the commission, the health condition of the two injured detainees, Nour Eddin Jarbou’, 27 and Mash’al Jaber, 17, who were shot at by the occupation upon their detention, is also difficult. They need concentrated treatment as one of them was shot in his spine that paralyzed his limbs while the other was injured in his right eye, left hand and mouth, the commission clarified.
The Commission indicated that the prisoner Ali Al-Hroub, 49, is also in a bad health condition after he underwent an operation a year ago during which a tumor was removed from his chest.
The commission called on the concerned international institutions to pressure the occupation authorities as to stop their aggressive practices towards the prisoners and to force the occupation to provide the sick prisoners with necessary treatment.
