Head of the Planning and International Cooperation Authority emphasizes the importance of presenting Syrian heritage to world
The Head of the Planning and International Cooperation Authority, Musab Badawi, emphasized the significance of historical sites in showcasing the Syrian heritage and cultural identity to the world.
He stressed the necessity of restoring these sites as to bring life back to them after they suffered from neglect and destruction during the former regime era.
During his visit today to the exhibition “Reviving and Restoring Historical Buildings and Sites” at the Faculty of Architecture of Damascus University, Badawi said in a statement to SANA that it is important to preserve, document, and safeguard the archaeological sites in Syria for future generations, as well as accurately and comprehensively promote both tangible and intangible heritage.
In a similar statement, the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Imad Al-Masri, explained that the exhibition represents an opportunity to showcase projects by students. He noted that the exhibition serves as a roadmap for tourism development in the country.
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Marwan Al-Halabi, inaugurated the exhibition on the 21st of this month, and it will continue until the 30th.
