Head of the Body Building and Fitness Federation: Great participation and strong competitions await the first Master of the Universe Championship in Syria
The Federation of BodyBuilding and Fitness is currently preparing to hold Mr. Universe Syria- the Master of the Universe Championship, which is the first and biggest IFBB Federation BodyBuilding and Fitness sport event in Syria. The participation will be opened locally and internationally and inclusive of all categories.
Eight countries have so far confirmed their participation in the tournament, which is scheduled to be held early next August including Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, Oman, the Emirates, Bahrain, Iraq and Iran, according to Manar Haikal, Head of the Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation.
Haikal said in a statement to SANA “ Great efforts are being made by the Body Building Federation to hold the Master of the Universe Championship under the supervision of the International Federation of the sports event, which is expected to witness wide participation and strong competitions” adding we have reached a good stage of preparations for the success of the first edition of the championship, which will be open in terms of participation.
Hakal indicated the most important aspect that distinguishes the championship is that it includes all categories of this sports game including physics, classic physics, bodybuilding, youth category of all weights and masters, and 10 professional cards will be awarded.
He pointed out the participation of Syrians in the tournament, although it is open, but it will be for those who have a decent level of participation under the supervision of body building experts at the international level, especially with the presence of the president of the International Federation of body building and fitness.
Haikal went on to say “Significant organizational, technical and arbitration levels that we are working to provide in our next tournament to introduce a good impression to the participating delegations at the end of the competitions, because we seek to hold them annually”.
He reviewed the importance of the Legend Championship that was organized by the federation last year and was an incentive after its success at the international level towards organizing the Master of the Universe Championship with greater inclusiveness in terms of categories and participation.
“Body building is one of the distinguished sports in Syria, and the demand for its practice is increasing every year compared to its predecessor, despite the large financial burdens that the player faces in order to reach the required technical level” Haikel said
“We aspire to achieve further development in this kind of sport through continuous work on qualifying training cadres in addition to focusing on preparing our national teams in an optimal manner” Haikel concluded.
