Head of GFP Meets Iraqi Delegation

Damascus, (ST) -Head of the General Federation of Peasants (GFP) Hammad Aboud Saud and a delegation representing the Iraqi General Federation of Peasants led by Hassan Nassif al-Tamimi discussed yesterday the relations of cooperation between the two organizations in the agricultural and marketing fields.

Mr. Saud pointed to the effects of the terrorist acts on improving agricultural production and the flow of Syrian goods to the Iraqi markets, stressing the importance of increasing agricultural trade opportunities between the two countries.

For his part, Mr. al-Tamimi said that the aim of the visit is the emphasize solidarity with the peasants and the people of Syria, calling for action to increase trade exchange and reactivate the return of the Syrian goods to the Iraqi market and gain more experience from the Syrian peasants in the use of modern agricultural equipment and technology.

For his part, the Secretary General of the Arab Peasants Khaled Khazaal between stressed on the depth of strategic relationship between the Syrian and Iraqi peasants calling for strengthening this cooperation to the fact that each of the two countries is a strategic depth for the other.

The delegation includes the members of the Executive Office of the General Federation and heads of sub-unions in the Iraqi provinces.
