Hasakah Water Establishment operates second well of Nafasha water station by solar energy

The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) branch in Hasakah has completed installing the solar energy system necessary for operating the most important wells of the Nafasha water station in Hasakah eastern countryside with the aim of ensuring electricity supply to the station around the clock.

According to head of SARC branch Ali Mansour, 64 solar panels at a capacity of 30 kw were installed with the support of the Norwegian Red Cross.

The aim of the project is to provide constant electricity supply for the most important wells in Nafasha water station in order to secure water pumping to the neighborhoods in Hasakah eastern countryside.

Director General of the Hasakah Water establishment Mahmoud Okla told SANA that this is the second well to be operated by renewable energy in Nafasha station which contains 9 wells which are supposed to secure water to some 40 populated areas in the eastern countryside of Hasakah.

He added that these wells are used as resources to fill water tanks when the Turkish occupation cuts off water supplies from the Allouk station in the Ras Al-Ayn countryside to Hasakah city.
