Harvesting an area of more than 83 thousand hectares of wheat in Hasakeh

Hasakeh (ST): Hasakeh farmers continue to harvest the areas planted with irrigated wheat, bringing the harvested area to date to reach 83 thousand and 700 hectares distributed over the various areas of agricultural stability, since the beginning of the harvest operations at the beginning of this month.

The head of the Plant Production Department in the Directorate of Agriculture, Engineer Jalal Bilal, said in a statement to news reporter that the majority of the area planted with irrigated wheat in the southern, eastern and rural areas of the cities of Hasake and Qamishli has been harvested, and some areas in the northern areas of the governorate, especially in the areas of Al-Malikiyah, Amuda and Tal Tamr countryside, are expected to end. The harvest operations in which 487 combine harvesters are participating at the end of this month after the farmers recently finished harvesting the barley and lentil crops.

It is noteworthy that the total area planted with irrigated wheat in the province is approximately 95 thousand hectares, according to the statistics of the Directorate of Agriculture in the province of Hasakeh, while the entire rain-fed area was out of production as a result of drought.
