Handicraft Products in the Syrian Charitable Bazaar in Lagos

LAGOS-The Syrian charitable bazaar was inaugurated at the Syrian National Club in Lagos, the economic capital of Nigeria.

According to SANA, this event comes in cooperation between  the Syrian Embassy in Abuja and members of the Syrian community represented by the social committee of the Syrian club and the committee of the Syrian women society.

The bazaar displays a large number of Syrian industrial and handicraft products like sweets ,foods,  mosaic, Aghbani, traditional jewelry, brass etc.. In addition to hand-made industries,  some of which produced by craftsmen and Syrian women living inside Syria ,and others by Syrian women living in Lagos and the surrounding city.

 Craftsmen from many countries like Lebanon, Egypt, Sudan, India, and  Pakistan have participated in the bazaar showing products from their countries or industries done by them in the host-country.

On November 4, 2017, the bazaar re-opened after 2- year suspension because of the economic conditions in Nigeria and the crisis in Syria. The bazaar dates back to 30 years.
