Hamsho and Krizan are at top of last round of MTN Syria Championship for speed and drift racing

In the presence of a large crowd, the MTN Syria Championship for speed and drift races, organized by the Syrian Automobile Club, was concluded at Sednaya Circuit in Damascus Countryside.

The return of many illustrious names to participate in motor sport  after years of absence indicates positive signs of a new start of this sport in Syria.

In the third and final round of the championship, the racer Ahmed Hamsho succeeded in his first appearance after an absence of four seasons, winning the third speed race championship aboard his Evo 7.

The contestant, Moaz Mahayni, maintained an advanced performance over the three rounds of the championship and put his name among the top competitors.

In the commercial production competitions, Mazen Najjar regained the lead in the third round, after he lost it in the previous round. He  was crowned champion of the general arrangement of the championship.

In the drifting championship competitions, which enjoy a wide public following due to its excitement, suspense and enthusiastic performances presented by the champions on board cars with enormous capabilities, the contestant Muhammad Krizan was the champion in the last stage of the championship, whose the race track was drawn on a high degree of difficulty and included all the drifting skills.

Krizan finished the two qualifying rounds and the determining round perfectly, with outstanding and stable performance, giving him high points, 327 points, which put him in the lead. The contestant Amr Hamsho came in second place with “286 points”, and Ahmed Al-Najjar came in third place with 273 points, and the fourth place went to the contestant Ahmed Krizan with 247 points.

It is noteworthy that the MTN Syria championship rounds for speed racing and drifting have ended, and the general ranking of the contestants in all categories will be announced within days, and their champions will be crowned in a special ceremony held by the Automobile Club.
