The Syrian province of Hama has become the biggest market for tractors and agricultural equipment in Syria due to its location in the middle of several agricultural provinces, mainly Idlib, Homs and Aleppo, and because of the return of security and stability and the recovery of the agricultural sector in this province after the liberation of terrorist-held areas from terrorism.
Mahdi Al-Ali, owner of Al-Huda Trading Company in Salhab area in Hama told SANA reporter that as the agricultural activity has been restored in the liberated areas, the company started to provide tractors and agricultural machines to support the farmers whose agricultural equipment were damaged due to terrorist attacks.
He pointed out that the company has launched several initiatives to assist the farmers in ensuring spare parts and maintenance for free to their damaged tractors and sometimes replace the damaged tractors with new ones.
On his part, Head of Hama Farmers Union Hafez Salem noted the huge turnout by farmers to register for buying tractors through the agricultural bank branches.
He underlined that the state of security and stability has been restored to the countryside in Homs, Aleppo and south of Idlib after it was liberate from terrorism, pointing out that the agricultural activity has also been recovered which made Hama province the destination of farmers and the biggest market for tractors and agricultural equipment and tools in Syria.
Director of Hama Agricultural Bank, Bassam Al-Halabi, on his part, said that the value of the loans granted to farmers since the beginning of this year has exceeded 10 billion Syrian pounds (SYP), particularly medium and long-term loans to the private and cooperative sectors.
