Hama first in NCC

Lattakia, (ST) – Hama chess team have clinched the women’s National Chess Championship.

Some 20 players representing Tartous, Lattakia, Homs and Hama took part in the said event.

Rola Mahmoud from Homs came first in the individual contest with seven points. Followed by Rita Yaghi from Hama. The third place went Mada Yazji from Hama with five points.

It is to be noted that some players, who took part in the event, are ranked internationally including Afamia al-Mir, Doha Farha, Mada Yazji, Rita Yaghi and Ruwa al-Qaseer.
