Haider to Czech delegation: government exerts every possible effort to preserve lives of civilians

State Minister of National Reconciliation Affairs Ali Haidar has stressed that Syrian government exerts every possible effort to preserve the lives of civilians while international community works on distorting facts on Syria.

He told reporters following his meeting with a Czech parliamentary delegation headed by Zuzka Bebarová Rujbrová on Wednesday that Syrian government seeks to ensure safe exit for civilians from the eastern districts of Aleppo city and to preserve their lives as well as to end the existence of terrorists there.

“International community applies double standards on counterterrorism, distorts the facts on Syria and turns a blind eye to  Syrian government’s efforts to protect civilians,” the minister said.

He referred to the local reconciliation deals that coincided with military operations against terrorists organizations nationwide.

” Over 80 areas joined the reconciliation project and status of 80.000 persons were regularized in accordance with presidential amnesty decrees ,” Haidar clarified, adding that 4 million Syrians benefitted from the decrees.

He also talked about the positive effects of reconciliation process, indicating that foreign intervention and the spread of terrorist groups hinder the implementation of some reconciliation deals.

Haidar unveiled that status of a huge number of gunmen and wanted persons will be regularized in the next 10 days. “Areas in the western countryside of Damascus and in Quneitra countryside will join the reconciliation project”.

He, in addition, underscored the importance of visits being made by parliamentary, civil, popular and governmental delegations to Syria amid media blackout and the media war launched on the country.

The minister stressed the importance of the positive role the Czech foreign policy plays against the terror war on Syria besides its independent stances that support the Syrian people despite the US and EU pressure put on the Czech republic to withdraw its diplomatic mission from Syria.

On her part, Rujbrová reiterated her country’s support for political solution in Syria, praising the Syrian army’s recent achievements in Aleppo.

Last Monday, the Czech delegation arrived in Damascus for a several-day visit upon an invitation from the Syrian parliament. It is composed of four members of parliament representing various political parties in Czech republic.
