Haider: Popular Reconciliation Becomes Wider

DAMASCUS, (ST)_ Minister of State for National Reconciliation Affairs, Dr. Ali Haidar stressed that “achieving local reconciliation in Souran city of Hama countryside should start with practical steps to address the concerns of the 60, 000 residents in the area.”

During a meeting yesterday with a delegation representing the city in the presence two members of the Reconciliation committee in the Parliament, Akram Hawash and Ali Rustom, minister Haidar indicated that priorities in addressing reconciliation files depend on a comprehensive study of the conditions of the area and on “factors of geography and the nature of the armed groups in it.”

He pointed out that the terror coming to Syria is but, “a tyrant and an epidemic, which will not exclude anyone of its supporters,” stressing the importance of “transparency in dealing with the file of missing, as part of the local reconciliation project” which needs long work and joint efforts of both the government and people’s activists, adding that People’s incubator for reconciliations became ” larger and wider as a result of the Syrian citizen confidence in state institutions.”

For their part, members of the delegation presented their vision for the achievement of national reconciliation in Souran, stating that the people of Souran have been exposed to armed groups terrorism and challenged it, thanks to their cohesion and unity against the conspiracy targeting Syria and its people.

Moreover, members of the National Reconciliation Committee in the Parliament discussed yesterday with the local reconciliation committee in Souran f ways to promote local reconciliation in the city and its surroundings, so as to enhance citizens solidarity in the face of terrorists who are trying to infiltrate into the area.
