Haidar announces preparations to hold comprehensive reconciliation conference for Damascus and its countryside

Minister of State for National Reconciliation Affairs Ali Haidar has announced that the ministry prepares for holding the comprehensive conference for Damascus and its countryside in order to unify efforts of reconciliation committees to benefit from the cessation of hostilities in the country.

The announcement came during Haidar’s Monday-meeting with a delegation representing the local reconciliation committees in Damascus and its countryside.

The meeting focused on the importance of initiatives to reinforce the reconciliation deals and to deal with the citizens’ problems and to communicate with gunmen for convincing them to settle their status.

“Reconciliation project is subject to real and serious will of Syrians,” the minister said, asserting that the current circumstances are suitable to reach more reconciliation deals.

“The real reconciliation manifests in the resumption of the work of all state institutes in the areas that witness reconciliation. Otherwise, the deals will remain within the project of reconciliation” Haidar clarified.

On his part, the member of reconciliation committee Sheikh Mohammad al-Omari declared that reconciliation deals will be reached inmany areas, including Yarmouk camp, al-Hajar al-Aswad, Tadamon, Darayya, Sbeneh, Hajjera and Beit Sahem south of Damascus plus towns located on the administrative boundaries between Daraa and Sweida provinces.

While, the researcher S’adeh Yazigi said that there will be a widespread participation from inside Syria and abroad in the forthcoming conferences.
