DAMASCUS, (ST)-Minister of State for National Reconciliation Ali Haidar has reiterated the firm stance of the Syrian state and people on supporting the Palestinian cause till the Palestinian people restore their usurped rights.
During a meeting with a delegation representing the Palestinian Liberation Front (PLO) led by the PLO Director of the Political Bureau Anwar Abdul Hadi, the reconciliation minister said that Syria is being targeted by a destructive terrorist war due to its national stances and resistant strategy.
According to Haidar, the hunger strike of the Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli occupation’s jails is one of the forms of resistance and confrontation against the arrogance of the Zionist entity and it carries on the Intifada launched by the Palestinians in the occupied territories after the Arab regimes , particularly the Gulf states, have failed the Palestinian people and rushed to normalize ties with the Israeli occupation.
The minister affirmed that the Palestinian arena is in urgent need to witness the achievement of unity and national reconciliation that embodies the aspirations of the Palestinian people. He also urged adherence to resistance as a strategic option.
Haidar explained the local reconciliation project in Syria and its positive results, pointing out that the terrorist groups and the constant foreign support for these groups are the main obstacle hindering reconciliation.
On his part, Abdul Hadi asserted the firm stance of the Palestinian leadership on supporting Syria’s efforts in fighting terrorism, hailing the Syrian army’s achievements in this respect and the local reconciliation process.
According to Abdul Hadi controlling the Palestinian camps by the terrorist organizations comes within the framework of usurping the Palestinian people’s right to return to their homeland.
In a statement to SANA following the meeting, the national reconciliation minister said that the crisis in Syria has caused suffering to the Palestinians in Syria.
On the issue of emptying al-Yarmouk Camp in Damascus from gunmen and weapons, Haidar said the second phase of the agreement on the four towns (Zabadani, Madaya, Foua and Kafraya) that provides for the exit of the gunmen from al-Yarmouk camp have started to be implemented.
