Haddad: Russia’s participation in the war on terror in Syria is a turning point in Syrian-Russian relations
The Syrian ambassador to the Russian Federation, Dr. Riyad Haddad, confirmed today that the decision of Russian forced to join in the war on terror in Syria in 2015 represent a turning point in the Syrian-Russian relations.
During a social event in Moscow, Haddad referred to the deeply rooted Syrian-Russian relations, but that in the year 2015 they developed greatly and became a relationship of strategic alliance and partnership in defending humanity and the entire world against the threat of international terrorism.
Haddad pointed out that the hostile forces continue to impose economic sanctions to impoverish and besiege the Syrian people and seek to thwart the Syrian-Russian alliance in all fields, including the media field, where false propaganda continue to distort the image of the anti-terror campaign carried out by the Syrian and Russian armies.
The Syrian embassy in Moscow sent a letter of thanks and appreciation to the leadership of the Russian rescue regiment. The letter reads as the following: “The Syrian Arab Republic highly evaluates your efforts in developing social relations between the Syrian and Russian people, and expresses its deep gratitude for your effective activity in conveying the objective facts that are taking place on the Syrian territories and in commemorating the victims of the Syrian and Russian armies who were martyred in the war on terror.”
Haddad awarded certificates of appreciation and gratitude to a number of Russian governmental and popular institutions, in addition to awarding medals of the General Command of the Syrian Army and Armed Forces to a number of members of the regiment and Russian army officers “for the defense of Syria” and for “combat cooperation” and participating alongside the Syrian Arab Army in fighting armed terrorist groups on Syrian territories.
