Haddad, Bogdanov discuss recent developments in Syria
MOSCOW, (ST)_The Russian President’s Special Representative Michael Bogdanov and Syria’s Ambassador in Moscow Riad Haddad discussed on Wednesday the recent developments in Syria and the region.
According to a statement released by the Russian Foreign Ministry the talks between the two sides dealt with means of actively confronting the terrorist threat, represented by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria terrorist organization [ISIS], and the need for reaching an immediate political solution to the crisis in Syria.
Today, Russia warplanes struck 8 ISIS targets in Syria during 20 combat flights.
“Civilian and infrastructure were avoided during the operations during which arms and fuel depots and military equipment were hit,” spokesperson for the Russian Defense Ministry Igor Konashenkov said, adding that ISIS coordination centers in the mountains were totally destroyed,
