Haddad asserts the need to strengthen relations between Russia and Islamic World

MOSCOW, (ST)_Syria’s Ambassador in Moscow Riad Haddad has stressed the need to cement constructive cooperation relations between Russia and countries of the Islamic world, particularly in the economic field. 
 
Addressing the session of the Russian-Islamic World Kazan Summit 2021  , the ambassador said that Syria is an important part of the Islamic world, and therefore “it is normal for us to participate in the 12th International Economic Summit.”
 
“In the light of the war and the unjust unilateral coercive measures being imposed by western states, especially the US, Syria needs to develop trade and revive its economy which has been largely affected by terrorism,” Haddad added. 
 
He affirmed the importance of Russian vision [Russia and Islamic World] towards tge whole world  as it calls for tolerance and multiculturalism to confront the so-called “conflict of civilizations” without moving towards blind extremism which is based on geopolitical interests on certain countries.
