Guterres expresses his confidence in building a new multipolar world order

Bern, (ST) – United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres expressed his confidence in the ability of the countries of the world to build a new multipolar world order.

RIA Novosti quoted Guterres as saying before the World Economic Forum in Davos that multipolarity creates complications and, if left to its own devices, could deepen the fault lines between North and South, East and West, and advanced and developing economies, expressing his confidence in building a new multipolar world order with new opportunities for leadership and balance and justice in international relations.

Guterres added: The world faced terrible regional conflicts and witnessed moments of great danger, and there were arms control initiatives and hotlines for nuclear safety. He added that instead of nuclear disarmament there is talk of nuclear re-armament.
