Guterres criticizes the Is raeli occupation authorities’ rejection of establishing a Palestinian state

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres  criticized on Tuesday  the Israeli occupation authorities’ rejection of establishing  a Palestinian state considering  this rejection  “unacceptable and would prolong the conflict.”

Agence France-Presse quoted Guterres as saying  in an intervention during a UN Security Council meeting: “The Israeli occupation must be put to an end,” reiterating the call for “an immediate humanitarian ceasefire.”

The UN diplomat stressed that the Israeli occupation authorities’ repeated rejection of the solution based on establishing a Palestinian state, and their denial of the right of the Palestinian people to have their  state, is “unacceptable” and would constitute a grave threat to international peace and security.

He added that “everyone must recognize the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state, as it is the only way to achieve peace”.
