Gunmen, wanted people join settlement agreement in the town of Tel Shehab in Daraa countryside

Daraa, (ST) – The legal status of a number of gunmen, wanted people and military service deserters in the town of Tel Shehab in the western countryside of Daraa was settled on Tuesday, according to the settlement agreement proposed by the Syrian state.

A SANA reporter said that, the process of settling the situation of militants, wanted people and deserters from military service began in the morning in the town of Tel Shehab, as part of the efforts made by the Syrian state to restore security and stability to the areas of the western countryside of Daraa.

 Some of the citizens of Tel Shehab town stated to SANA, their satisfaction with the “settlement option,” expressing their hope that “stability will prevail throughout the town and move to the rest of the towns and villages so that Daraa Governorate will return to being safe and stable.”

Abdul-Mahdi Al-Hashish, head of the Tel Shehab town council, told SANA: “This day is a national day and a day of security, safety, love and peace that we have been waiting for , for  years,” referring to the efforts made to make the settlements successful.

In turn, Muflih Al-Dibs, a notable of the town, said: “Security and safety have returned to Tel Shehab, and the wanted and deserted have returned to settle their situations and hand over the weapons that some of them had to the Syrian Arab Army.” He expressed his hope that “security will prevail in the town and will move to the rest of the villages and towns.”

In implementation of the settlement agreement proposed by the  Syrian state to establish security and stability throughout the governorate of Daraa, the situation of wanted and armed men was settled last Saturday in the town of Tafas, and was preceded by similar settlement operations in Daraa Al-Balad, the village of Al-Yadouda and the town of Muzayrib, at a time when thousands of people returned to their homes in the Daraa Al-Balad neighborhood after deploying Syrian Arab Army points inside it.
