With the participation of Syria, the 28th edition of Gulfood 2023, the International Trade Fair for the Food and Beverage Industry, kicked off on Monday at Dubai World Trade Centre in the United Arab Emirates.
The exhibition, which runs until 24 February, is one of the world’s largest specialized exhibitions in the food and beverage industries, involving 125 countries, more than 5,000 companies specializing in the food industry and marketing, as well as 150 experts offering their scientific expertise through conferences and symposiums held during the exhibition, in the presence of the most important businessmen.
The opening of the exhibition was attended by the Syrian Consul General in Dubai Ziyad Zahreddine accompanied by the Director General of the Authority for Support and Development of Local Production and Exports Thaer Fayyad a delegation of Syrian economic activities and representatives of the private sector.
In a statement to the SANA correspondent, Fayyad noted that the Syrian pavilion had an area of 336 square meters this year, comprising about 45 food companies specializing in the production and marketing of olive oil, spices, conserves, hot and cold drinks, sweets, chocolate, and other Syrian food products that proved to be distinguished in Arab and international markets.
Gulfood aims to highlight new innovations in the market, seize accelerated shifts in consumer behaviors to market food products, and revive connection between thousands of food sector operators.
It is noteworthy that Syria participated in the events of the Gulfood 2022 Exhibition with a pavilion of 318 square meters and the participation of 25 Syrian food companies. It proved success in terms of attendance, high quality and competitive products.
