Gulf Cooperation Council Welcomes Trump’s Decision to Lift Economic Sanctions on Syria

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, welcomed the decision of the United States to lift the sanctions imposed on the Syrian Arab Republic, which was announced this evening by President Donald Trump.

 

Al-Budaiwi expressed, as reported by the official website of the GCC General Secretariat, his hope that this decision will contribute to alleviating the suffering of the Syrian people and pave the way for building a safe and prosperous future for Syria.

 

He praised the significant and valuable efforts made by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which contributed to driving this important decision forward.
