Grospic: Presidential elections are a constitutional and sovereign right for Syrians

Prague (ST):  The head of the Czech Parliamentary Group for Friendship with Syria, Dr. Stanislav Grospic, has affirmed that the presidential elections are a constitutional and sovereign right of the Syrian people through which they choose their leadership and decide the future of their country on their own.

In a message, Grospic said that the Czech Parliamentary Group for Friendship with Syria highly appreciates the successes achieved by the Syrian people in their struggle against terrorism, the tremendous sacrifices they have made, and the solid will they have shown for more than 10 years in defending their country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He pointed out that the members of the group, as friends of Syria and citizens of a country of the European Union, recently sent a letter to the European Commission, expressing their condemnation of the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the Union on Syria and demanding the immediate elimination of them because they are criminal measures.
