Several government parties in cooperation with the civil defence teams and the local community are exerting great efforts as to control the huge fire that broke out between Kasab and Al-Badrousiya areas in Lattakia northern countryside.
Lattakia Governor Khaled Abaza told SANA that the firefighting teams are doing their atmost as to prevent the fire from extending to the houses, pointing out that the fire is huge and the weather doesn’t help, as the firefighting teams are facing the strong wind and the rough terrain of the area.
He pointed out that with the expansion of the fire and the difficulty to control it so far, a number of homes in the village of Al-Badrousiya have been evacuated of residents for their safety.
For its part, the Ministry of Health announced full mobilization of the emergency system and health facilities affiliated to Lattakia Health Directorate due to the expansion of the fire area between Al- Badrousiya and Kasab.
The ministry explained that there are 6 equipped ambulances in the site that are fully prepared to provide life-saving medical services on the spot, indicating that the paramedics are ready around the clock to provide the appropriate health response immediately.
Earlier this evening, three people were transferred to Tishreen University Hospital due to burns sustained in the fire, according to a SANA reporter.
