Granddaughters of Sweida’s Militant Women honored

SWEIDA,(ST)_Marking the 67th  anniversary of the evacuation Day of the French colonists from Syria, Sweida’ s Women ‘s Union WU branch on Thursday  honored granddaughters of women fighters, who fought against the French occupation  in thegovernorate.

Sheikh Yasser Abu Fakhr said that the  evacuation was  as a result of our people ‘s enlightened thought against all types of  colonialism which tried to undermine Syria ‘s history and geography,  stressing that the value of martyrdom  as a sublime doctrine  for the sake of the homeland.

The  awardees  expressed pride over the heroism of their ancestors who wrote brighter epics of nationalism to attain  freedom, calling on all Syrians to preserve the legacy of their ancestors and follow  their footsteps in order to defend  the country and ensure its sovereignty and independence.
