Grand Mufti to Mauritanian Delegation: Syria’s People, Army Keep Steadfast against Global War

DAMASCUS, (ST) – The global war waged against Syria targets the whole Arab nation and aims at leading the region to a state of sectarian fight, fragmentation and chaos, said Syria’s Grand Mufti Ahmad Badr Eddin Hassoun.

Mufti Hassoun, who was speaking during a meeting with a Mauritanian delegation representing Mauritanian party and unionist figures, stressed that the conspiracy to which Syria is being exposed targets the country’s national stances, particularly towards the Palestinian cause.

Hassoun affirmed the steadfastness of the Syria Arab people and Army in the confrontation of the global conspiracy until they attain victory.

Members of the Mauritanian delegation voiced the support of their political and unionist parties to the Syrian people against the Arab-funded US-Zionist conspiracy, affirming that they will explain the reality of events in Syria and the dangerous dimensions of the conspiracy to the Mauritanian’s public opinion.

Mahfouz Le’ziz, Secretary General of the Socialist Democratic Unity Party in Mauritania, affirmed that the delegation visits Syria to express solidarity with the Syrian people, leadership and army in the face of the heinous global war waged against the country with a full Saudi and Qatari support and collusion with the U.S, the Zionist entity and other colonialist forces.

He condemned the misleading and conspiring role played by some media channels that are partners in shedding the Syrian blood.

He hailed Syria’s support for resistance and its confrontation of the Zionist project.

The Mauritanian party official said that Syria’s enemies are trying to destroy Syria, the symbol of amity and peace, but Syria will no doubt emerge victorious.
