DAMASCUS–The United States, Europe, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar should halt their support for the terrorists in Syria and stop interfering in Syria’s internal affairs, Grand Mufti of the Republic Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun has stressed.

He made the remarks on Tuesday during his meeting with member of the Executive Committee and the International Relations Committee in the Communist Party of Spain Francisco Frutos Gras and member of the Central Committee of the Unified Socialist Party of Catalonia Edward Guerrero.

The Mufti said Syria is defending human civilization against terrorist mentality and is fighting terrorism and extremism on behalf of Europe and the world.

On their part, Gras and Guerrero said that Syria is facing a fierce terrorist aggression, pointing out that they took part in events held in Spain in solidarity with Syria and that they will spare no effort as to convey the truth about what is going on in Syria to Spanish citizens in order to uncover the lies and fabrications promoted by the western media about Syria events.

They asserted that the will work hard as to restore relations between the Syrian and Spanish peoples.
