BEIRUT- “Palestine is the real compass of resistance and Jihad,” Syria’s Grand Mufti Ahmad Badruddin Hassoun has stressed, pointing out that librating Palestine is a religious and national duty.
Hassoun, who was speaking on Thursday to a delegation representing the Islamic Action Front in Lebanon, affirmed the importance of resistance against the Zionist enemy.
Talks dealt with the situation in the region, particularly the painful and regrettable events in Syria of which the Zionist enemy is the sole beneficiary.
Hailing the role played by the Islamic Action Front and its leaders, Hassoun reiterated that “scholars, in particular, can play a great role in guiding the Islamic awakening and in confronting the extremism and terrorism which are being promoted under the cover of religion.”
Hassoun is visiting Beirut to take part in the conference of the Institutional Commission of the Resistance Scholars International Union which kicked off its activities two days ago with the participation of a number of Moslem scholars, intellectuals and political personalities from Arab and Islamic countries including Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Turkey.
