Governor of Tartous to the people of Arwad Island: You have depicted the clearest picture of the morals and authenticity of the Syrians
Tartous (ST): Tartous Governor Abdel Halim Khalil praised the good manners embodied by the people of Arwad Island, which expresses the originality of the Syrians, during their assistance in rescuing the victims of the sinking Lebanese boat, conveying to them the greetings and appreciation of President Bashar al-Assad.
Khalil said during his meeting with the people of the island at the Cultural Center in Arwad: You have given the world a lesson in humanity, and you have embodied the clearest picture of the morals and authenticity of the Syrians.
The governor indicated that the meeting today aims to identify the service reality of the island, and to learn about the problems and difficulties experienced by its people, so that they can be addressed with all available capabilities, and to advance the island’s reality.
The people of Arwad Island presented their service demands, which centered on the necessity of isolating and paving the port basin, to accommodate the largest number of fishermen’s boats, and to increase the hours of electrical feeding and fuel allocations for heating and boats, and securing a specific yard and center in Tartous to sell fish directly to citizens.
