Governor of CBS: Assets Improve

Damascus, (ST)- The Governor of the  Central Bank of Syria (CBS) Dr. Adib Mayaleh underlined that “the Central Bank of Syria’s assets are in continuous improvement and sufficient to meet all the needs”.

In a statement he made yesterday, Dr. Mayaleh called on citizens “to make a complaint to the Board of the Central Bank addressed directly to the governor in the case of exchange companies did not meet their applications to buy foreign exchange.”

The Central Bank announced the “financing of imports is determined by the exchange rate at 490 Syrian pounds to the dollar and the price of delivery of remittances exchange at 490 Syrian pounds to the dollar.”

The CBS also stressed the “continuing process of intervention in the foreign exchange market on a daily basis through the exchange companies and the CBS is ready to fully meet the market’s  need of foreign exchange for whatever the purpose of financing imports and non-commercial needs including study.”
