Governmental Delegation Inspects Work on al-Baath University’s Power Substation

HOMS – Prime Minister Imad Khamis, accompanied by a governmental delegation, inspected on Saturday work on al-Baath University’s power substation in al-Shammas neighborhood in Homs city.

The plant, which cost SYP 17 billion, is scheduled to be put for investment at the beginning of August.

Electricity Minister Mohammad Zuhair Kharboutli said that this substation is one of the most advanced power facilities in the Middle East, noting that launching the plant in August will contribute to stability of the power grim in the middle region in general and Homs province in particular, according to SANA.

The governmental delegation also visited Josieh border crossing and were briefed on the preparations for reopening it.

 For his part, Finance Minister Ma’moun Hamdan said that reopening the crossing is an important economic step for Syria and Lebanon, allowing the entry and exit of passengers and goods, particularly since the crossing is close to the Hassiah industrial city.

The delegation also laid the foundation stone of the agriculture development center in Rableh village, which will have an initial cost of around SYP 1 billion.

Khamis and the delegation also inspected the Justice Palace in al-Waer neighborhood in Homs which is currently undergoing repairs and maintenance in preparation for reopening it next month, in addition to visiting the communications and police departments in the neighborhood, as well as al-Walid Hospital.
