Government intensifies efforts to secure water to Hasakah’ residents as Turkish occupation continues to cut it off for the 25th consecutive day

HASAKAH, Aug.25, (ST)- Government efforts in Hasakah governorate has focused on securing drinking water for the people as the Turkish occupier continues to cut off water from the Allouk station for the 25th consecutive day, threatening the lives of about one million citizens who depend on the station as a main source of drinking water.

The efforts are represented in operating 16 desalination plants installed by the General Directorate of Drinking Water in the center of Hasakah city, all of which were put into service to meet the demand for water and in cooperation with international organizations and NGOs to distribute water to the people.

“For the 4th consecutive day, a number of tanks in the city center were run and distributed with the aim of delivering the water to houses as an emergency solution” The Head of Hasakah city council, Adnan Khajo, told the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

In the same context, charities and civil societies launched initiatives to distribute water to all houses in the center of the city and coordinate with the official authorities.

For their part, the people of Hasakah condemned the violations of the Turkish and US occupations against them, criticizing the international silence on these humanitarian crimes. They called for the intervention of international organizations to curb the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation and stop their attacks on Alouk station.
