DAMASCUS,(ST)_Wael al-Halaqi has said government drew up strategic plans to revive Syrian national industries.
Prime Minister’s remark was made during his meeting today with the Head and members of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Industry in Damascus and its suburbs.
Al-Halaqi expressed his trust in Syrians’ ability to restore the slogan ‘made in Syria’.
“The national industrialists and businessmen, who have not left the country , have contributed to the continuity of production in many factories and industrial establishments,” he added.
The premier also indicated the role of public and private industrial sector in ensuring requirements of reconstruction process, increasing the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), creating sustainable job opportunities and ensuring local products at acceptable prices.
He told the participants in the meeting that the government is seeking to find markets for Syrian products through developing relations with friendly countries.
“Syrian products must be of high quality and able to compete on global markets,” al-Halaqi said
On the other hand, He asserted that the government seeks to enhance and protect the Syrian small and medium- sized industries.
Head of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Industry in Damascus and its suburbs, MP Samer al-Debs pointed out the great efforts being exerted by the government to help industrialists and support them in order to revive national industries.
