Good results for Syrian wrestlers in Beirut

BEIRUT, (ST) – The U-18 national wrestling(Greco-Roman) team, who took part in the U-18 West Asia Wrestling Championship which was held in Lebanon, have achieved remarkable results as they collected seven varied medals (1 gold, 4 silver & 2 bronze medals).

Ratib Hayek, took gold in the 74 kg category while those who took silver medals were: Ahmad Bakri (84 kg), Ahmad Hams (96 kg), Abdul Raqhman Abras (124 kg ) and Ahmad Naji (66 kg).

 Ahmad Hasoun (55 kg) and Abdul Kareem Hasan (60 kg) took a bronze medal each.

Earlier, the free-style wrestling team took (1 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronzes).

The said event was held with the participation of scores of wrestlers from Syria, Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq and Yemen.
