Goals of HANDS project for craft training reviewed at Al-Baath University

The importance of the HANDS project in training on crafts, developing and marketing the heritage products and entering the labor market was reviewed at Al -Baath University in Homs. These goals were the focus of the meeting of Dr. Abdel Baset Al-Khateeb, the rector of the University, and Dr. Salman Ajeeb, representative of European universities participating in the HANDS project.
Al -Khateeb indicated that the university provided all support to the project by introducing some traditional industries and crafts into the teaching curricula in the colleges of architecture, mechanical, electrical, chemical and petroleum engineering, in addition to the opening of a special laboratory for the project at the College of Architecture at the university.

In turn, Dr. Ajeeb indicated that the primary goal of the HANDS project is to increase cooperation between specialized craftsmen and academic engineers to implement the creative ideas they learned from the project and transfer them directly to the labor market, in addition to developing the production of traditional crafts scientifically.

Later, a meeting was held with the members of the HANDS project at AL-Baath University, including professors, students and craftsmen.
