Global Times: Gaza Strip is turning into the largest prison in the world due to double standards

Beijing, (ST) – The Chinese newspaper “Global Times” described Gaza Strip as the largest open-air prison on earth.

The newspaper in its description to Gaza strip pointed out that more than 2.3 million Palestinians live in the Gaza Strip under the weight of the ongoing Israeli aggression, where the Palestinians suffer from random targeting by the occupation aircrafts ,the matter that is increasing their suffering after a siege that lasted for many years

The newspaper said that the Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip amounted to genocide because it was an intense indiscriminate bombing in a densely populated place. It added that “Israel” cut off the supplies of water, food, electricity and fuel after the Gaza Strip was subjected to this type of reprisals in the years 2006, 2008, 2012, 2014 and 2021 which caused the death of thousands of innocent civilians, most of them children.

The Chinese newspaper criticized the Western unilateral position and explained that the issue is not only related to the strong Western support for the Israeli occupation entity, but also to the unilateral position taken by Western leaders towards the aggression and what the Palestinians are suffering in Gaza.

The Global Times indicated that US President Joe Biden’s statement that the United States remains committed to the Palestinians’ right to dignity and self-determination lacks credibility due to his decision to send more weapons to “Israel” to kill the children of Gaza. It stressed that the bias of American and European officials regarding the Palestinian issue proves that there is no indication that the United States or the European Union is ready to end the aggression against Gaza.

The newspaper pointed out that the positions of the United States and the European Union confirm the perception that they seek to achieve hegemonic ambitions that depend primarily on military force and not on diplomacy and peaceful resolution of conflicts.

The newspaper stressed that one of the basic conditions of mediation is neutrality, which is something that the United States and the European Union lack, due to their unconditional support for “Israel”.
