Germany to Support UNESCO in Syria with €100,000

German Special Envoy to Syria, Stefan Schneck, announced on Thursday that his country will support a special cooperation fund between UNESCO and Syria with €100,000.

He stressed that the new decision paves the way for multi-stakeholder engagement in this cooperation.

 

Schneck said on platform X: “UNESCO and multilateral cooperation have returned to Syria. Germany, in coordination with the Syrian government, initiated a UNESCO resolution on educational, cultural, and media cooperation in Syria. Germany will support a special UNESCO cooperation fund for Syria with €100,000.”
