Germany rejects Trump’s calls to abandon deal with Iran

The German Foreign Ministry announced  Berlin’s rejection of the calls made by US President Donald Trump for the Five plus one group to abandon the nuclear deal signed with Iran in 2015.

France Press Agency quoted the spokesman of the German Foreign Ministry Ranier Broil as saying that Germany wants to use all possibilities ensured by the deal to head forward to a diplomatic solution, stressing that Germany was working to save the agreement.

In May 2018, Trump announced the US withdrawal from  the deal which was endorsed by the UN Security Council in resolution No. 2231.
