German Special Envoy to Syria: Stable environment necessary to help Syrians focus on the political process

German Special Envoy to Syria Stefan Schneck has stated “we are following up with great concern reports of the killing of civilians west of Daraa”.

“Our Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock emphasized during her visit to Syria that foreign attacks on Syrian territory threaten stability and violate international law”, he said, stressing that the protection of civilians must remain a top priority.

“We call on all parties to exercise maximum restraint, affirming thay foreign forces must withdraw from Syrian territory.

He pointed out that it is now crucial to provide a stable environment that allows Syrians to focus on the national political process in their country.
