German Chancellor Confirms his Country’s Support for the New Syrian Administration

President Ahmed al-Sharaa today received a telephone call from the German chancellor Olaf Scholz to congratulate him on his assumption of the presidency and the salvation of the Syrian people from the regime of Bashar al-Assad.

He also expressed his support for the measures taken by the new administration at the popular and political level in order to achieve civil peace.
For his part, president Al-Sharaa thanked the German Chancellor for the positions of Germany that supported the Syrian people and received refugees over the past years.
President Al-Sharaa spoke about the roadmap being pursued by the Syrian state at the level of the transitional phase, the national dialogue and the formation of an inclusive government, in addition to efforts aimed at removing economic sanctions, which the German Chancellor has clearly stated that it should be removed immediately.
The German Chancellor expressed his support for the steps of president Al-Sharaa in conducting talks to complete the unity of the Syrian territory.
President Al-Sharaa and the German Chancellor also shared the security challenges in Syria and the need to work jointly to maintain security and stability in Syria, and stressed support for the political process.
