Georgia declares its readiness to host a meeting of the Minsk Group for settlement in Nagorno Karabakh

Tablisi,(ST)- Georgian President, Salome Zurabishvili called for a ceasefire between Azerbaijan and Armenia in the Nagorno Karabakh region to avoid further victims, expressing her country’s readiness to host a meeting of the Minsk Group of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe on a settlement in the region.

Sputnik quoted that Georgian President, Salome Zurabishvili as saying in an interview that  “Azerbaijani and Armenian are ready to be a part of the Minsk group and I think that we must help to hold such a meeting at least in Georgia, saying that her country will do everything in its power in this regard”.

She indicated her intention to hold a telephone conversation with the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan this week, stressing the importance of her country’s adherence to maintaining the policy of neutrality towards both neighboring countries.

The situation in Nagorno Karabakh region has witnessed a sudden military escalation since the 27th of last September.
