George Wassouf receiveing the State Appreciation Award 2019

The great Syrian artist George Wassouf, expressed his happiness and honor to receive the State Appreciation Award for 2019, from his homeland Syria.

“When I visit Syria, I feel happy because I am the son of this country, where I spent my childhood.”Wassouf said expressing his joy to SANA.

He as well declared that Syria is a beautiful country, and every honest person should stand with his homeland in all difficult circumstances.

Wassouf thanked The Culture Ministry for his award, and he wished victory and liberation to the all Syrian lands.

George Wassouf was born in Homs in 1961. He began his artistic career at the age of twelve with concerts that revealed his vocal and artistic abilities.
